“Night Night My Baby Heart” is a nursery rhyme lullaby for children five and under. Written by Lenka Bergmann Mikovcova (http://www.upsidedowncz.com/upside-down-article) and illustrated by Vera Ema Tataro (https://kaminosh.wixsite.com/tataro/blank-1).
The text uses a method that helps children calm down before sleep. Hence is the book a perfect complement of an baby’s sleeping ritual in the evening. The book is inspired by the children’s book “Good Night Moon” (M. Wise Brown, illustrated by C. Hurd, HarperCollins Publisher), going beyond. It describes not only what the child might see around him/her, but also helps the child become aware of sounds and it’s feelings.
It works with the reality that children are sometimes afraid of the dark. Hence, the illustrations bring children brightness and joy. Every Lullaby line is accompanied by illustration that covers two pages of favorite children’s motives as stars, moon, teddy bear, bubbles,…
Children and Babies love to hear their parents singing to fall asleep. Hence the calming rhythm of the text opens it to musical interpretation. Which supports bonding even more.
Review “The lullaby “Night Night Baby Heart” has a poetic spirit. Its rhythm calms and soothes, connecting kids with their inner space step by step. The text flows with lightness, fresh and playful. The opening phrase of every verse, “Night, night”, develops kids’ imagination, especially their vision of calm night color. The illustrations go hand in hand with the poetry of the text, at the same time giving kids space for their fantasies. With each shade of blue, the illustrations lead to brightness and peace.”
